Lift Test and Comprehensive Manual Handling Assessments for WorkSafe Australia Regulations
A Lift Test (sometimes called Lifting Capacity Test or Manual Handling Lift Assessment) checks whether someone can safely perform lifting tasks up to a specified weight and method, aligned to a job requirement or safety standard.
Lift tests are commonly used to support:
Pre-employment screening
Fitness for work / return to work
Role changes or redeployment
Risk reduction for manual handling roles
Typical lift activities may include:
Floor-to-waist lifting
Waist-to-shoulder lifting
Carrying tasks
Repetitive lifting (where relevant)
Technique and control checks (manual handling safety)

To keep the appointment smooth and accurate:

Bring any employer forms or site requirements
Bring photo ID (if required for your booking)
Bring any braces/supports you normally use
Let us know about any current injuries or restrictions upfront

Common lift test weight requirements
Employers may request lift testing at specific loads such as:
10–15kg (light manual handling roles)

If your employer needs a specific standard, share it at booking so we can align the assessment properly.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a Lift Test Assessment take?

How quickly can I get an appointment in Perth?
We prioritise urgent requests and offer after-hours and weekend appointments.
How soon will the report be ready?
A vast majority of our Assessment reports are available on the same day. This report is sent securely to the employer / requestor
Is a lift test the same as a Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA)?
